The present annual report builds upon the recommendation of the General Assembly in its resolution 67/152 that the Secretary-General extend the mandate of the Special Representative for a further period of three years and takes into account the request of the Assembly that the Special Representative continue to submit annual reports to the Assembly and the Human Rights Council on the activities undertaken in the fulfilment of her mandate, including information on her field visits and on the progress achieved and the challenges remaining on the violence against children agenda.
