Violence continues to be a reality for millions of children worldwide. Children face a continuum of violence in homes, schools, institutions, online, and during displacement. The impact is devastating and long-lasting, with enormous human and economic costs. Ending violence against children can and must be prevented. Investing in child protection and violence prevention has high returns for societies and makes financial sense. The Special Representative promotes bold steps to accelerate investment in children’s wellbeing, safety, and empowerment, leaving no one behind. We need to act now to keep the promise to end violence against children by 2030.
