Ministers and representatives from ten American nations (Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Peru, and Uruguay (not a Pathfinding country yet)), regional bodies, UN agencies, municipalities, civil society organizations, and children gathered in Mexico City for a crucial two-day meeting to advance commitments under the Pathfinding Global Alliance on Ending Violence against Children. Hosted by the Government of Mexico on July 10-11, the event was convened by the Mexican Government in close collaboration with the Office of the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence Against Children (SRSG-VAC) and UNICEF. The meeting brought together the nine Pathfinding countries in the Americas, as well as Uruguay. It was a significant opportunity to discuss the key priorities and actions needed to eliminate violence against children. It leveraged the pillars of the Global Alliance: country ownership, mutual accountability, and knowledge sharing.
