Investing in children: An accelerator for the Sustain Development Goals

Investing in children is an accelerator for the Sustainable Development Goals. Violence against children is increasing, but it can and must be prevented. The impact of violence is devastating and long-lasting, with enormous human and economic costs. Governments increasingly recognize that investing in children through integrated social services makes sound financial sense. A paradigm shift is needed: robust and sustained investment to build a protective shield around children and families. This investment will help tackle the root causes and drivers of violence and accelerate progress toward the SDGs. Less than six years remain until the 2030 deadline.
