Mandate of the United Nations Task Force on Children Deprived of Liberty

The United Nations Task Force on Children Deprived of Liberty comprises all UN agencies, mandates and special mechanisms, under the coordination of the Special Representative of the Secretary General on Violence against Children, playing an active role in the implementation of the recommendations of the UN Global Study on Children Deprived of Liberty based on GA Resolutions A/ Res/74/133 and A/Res/75/185.

Global virtual event “End Immigration Detention of Children” co-organized by the United Nations Task Force on Children Deprived of Liberty, the Workstream on Alternatives to Immigration Detention of the UN Network on Migration and in collaboration with the Governments of Colombia, Morocco, Portugal, Thailand and Türkiye.

2021

Virtual event on “Accelerating progress to end child immigration detention in line with the SDG Agenda, including targets 10.7 and 16.2” organized by the UN Task Force on Children Deprived of Liberty in collaboration with the Permanent Missions of Colombia, Morocco, Portugal, Thailand and Türkiye.
