New York, 06 February 2024 - POP: Protection Through Online Participation

POP aims to understand how children and young people can access safety and protection thanks to their access to the internet.

Increasingly, children and youth are turning to the Internet to be safe when at risk of experiencing harm offline or online. POP is collecting evidence on how children and youth are accessing safety through online means from the perspectives of the different stakeholders involved in the protection chain of support: helplines & services, children and youth, service providers, tech companies, and the protection community.

New York, 19 December 2023 - Four voices have shed light on a reality too often rendered invisible. Sedra, Sofia, Naya and Maksim, four child refugees, raised their voices during the Child Rights High-Level parallel event “Pledging with and for children” organized by multiple partners1 on the margins of the 2nd Global Refugee Forum in Geneva. They shared their experiences, needs and hopes because, in their own words, “children are capable of telling stories that change lives”.
